10' x 13'2" Persian Tabriz Rug | Navy Floral Field with Ivory Medallion | Excellent Condition

This 10' x 13'2" hand-knotted Persian Tabriz is a full room-size piece with a deep navy field, a small ivory starburst medallion floating at the center and a wide rust red main border framing all 4 sides. The pile is 3/8" wool on a cotton foundation, dense enough to sit flat and heavy without any waviness, and the pile depth is even from selvage to selvage. Condition is excellent, with full pile, straight sides and original ends. It ships with a certificate of authenticity confirming the origin, the materials and the hand-knotted construction. Design and Motifs

Large botehs and leaf shaped cartouches ring the medallion, each one filled with its own miniature rosette and vine so the motifs read as pattern within pattern. Above and below the medallion sit 2 slender vase forms in rust and ivory, a court workshop touch that anchors the vertical axis. Smaller palmettes, serrated leaves and half-open blossoms fill every remaining inch of ground. The main border carries alternating rust cartouches and navy panels of rosettes, flanked by a fine reciprocal guard stripe and an outer sage green vine band that finishes the rug cleanly against a floor.

The Navy, Rust and Ivory Palette

The ground is a true navy with a faint violet cast where the light catches the wool, deep enough to hide traffic yet never flat, because the vines drawn across it are worked in pale ivory and soft sky blue. Against that darkness the motifs are staged in warm tones: rust red and terracotta in the border and the boteh outlines, camel gold and pale wheat in the leaf cartouches, salmon pink and rose in the blossoms, with small hits of teal and forest green tucked inside individual rosettes. Ivory does the structural work, marking the medallion, the 4 corner spandrels and the thin outlining that keeps every element legible.
