At 8'10" x 18'1" this is a gallery-length Kashan, long enough to run a full dining table with chairs pulled out or to carry an open living room from one end to the other and still leave the border showing. The weaver skipped the central medallion and committed to an all-over floral field instead, which is the harder of the two classic Kashan layouts because the vine has to stay in register over more than 18 feet without a medallion to anchor the eye. The wool is soft, lustrous and full in the pile, the ivory ground has stayed clean and bright, and the rug is in excellent condition. Pieces in this length are genuinely scarce, which is why buyers searching oversize Persian rugs so often end up on a Kashan. Design and Motifs

The field is drawn as a mirrored all-over floral design: a thin scrolling vine runs the length of the rug and throws off large rounded palmettes, layered rosettes with pale blue petals, small 5 petal blossoms and long serrated leaves that curl back on themselves. Look at the close-up photographs and you can see how strictly the pattern is balanced, each motif on the left answered by its twin on the right along the center axis, with the repeat stepping cleanly down the length. The main border is a wide sage green band carrying its own vine of palmettes and cupped florals, framed on both sides by a pair of ivory guard stripes filled with a smaller running flower and leaf, and then by narrow navy outer stripes that keep the whole frame crisp. There is no medallion and no corner spandrel, so the drawing reads as one continuous garden rather than a composition built around a center point, which is exactly why a rug this long holds together visually.

The Ivory Field and Sage Green Border

The ground is a warm ivory, closer to unbleached cream than to stark white, and it carries a faint sheen where the light crosses the pile. Against it the palette is cool and restrained: sky blue and cornflower blue do most of the work in the petals and leaf tips, deep navy draws every outline and stem so the motifs stay legible from standing height, and soft olive and moss green fill the larger leaves. Warm accents are used sparingly and deliberately, small touches of rust and brick red in the flower centers and little points of gold and mustard that catch the eye without ever taking over. The border is the piece that makes this rug unusual. Instead of the familiar Kashan red or navy frame, the weaver chose a sage green, a soft pistachio tone that sits quietly beside the ivory and makes the whole rug read lighter and more contemporary than most traditional Kashans of this size.
