This 8'8" x 11'9" hand-knotted Oriental rug is a new Oushak design piece woven in natural wool on a cotton foundation, cut to a low 1/4" pile that keeps the drawing crisp and the surface easy to live on. Design and Motifs

The layout is a classic Oushak composition built around a large central roundel filled with radiating leaf spokes and a ring of small blossoms, anchored at top and bottom by broad fan palmettes. From that center, long looping vine arcs sweep outward and frame 4 secondary cartouche shapes, each holding its own palmette and serrated leaf cluster. The drawing is generous and open rather than crowded, the hallmark of an all-over design that has been scaled up for a large floor. The main border runs a repeating panel of upright palmette and blossom forms separated by narrow dividing bars, a rhythm that reads almost architectural at 11'9" of length, and thin plain guard stripes hold it in place. Because the pattern repeats outward instead of centering on one dominant medallion, furniture can sit across it without swallowing the composition.

The Light Sage Green and Beige Palette

The field is a pale sage green with a grey-celadon undertone, subtly striated by gentle abrash so the ground moves rather than sitting flat.
