This is a brand new, never used hand-knotted Oriental rug measuring 10' x 14', woven in wool with silk highlights over a cotton foundation and drawn in the traditional Tabriz manner. The field is a deep burgundy, worked edge to edge with a mirrored floral lattice rather than a central medallion, so the pattern reads as one continuous garden from end to end. A wide ivory main border and several narrow guard stripes frame it, and the finish is clean throughout: even selvages, hand-tied ivory cotton fringe, and a dense, level pile with no wear anywhere on the surface. A certificate of authenticity ships with the rug. Design and Motifs

The drawing is a classic Tabriz style all over floral design, built from repeating serrated palmettes, split leaves, curling arabesque vines and small 8 petal rosettes that link one motif group to the next. Look closely at the close-up photographs and you can see how disciplined the repeat is: each palmette is outlined in dark navy, filled with green and tan, and finished with a rose or cream heart, and the pattern reverses perfectly across the long axis of the rug. The main ivory border carries a procession of large lobed palmettes alternating with tulip-like blossoms and trailing leaf work, separated from the field by a rose and tan stripe of running rosettes and by thin ribbon guards. All 4 corners are resolved cleanly, with the border turning without breaking the rhythm of the motifs, which is the detail that separates a carefully cartooned piece from a hurried one.

A Burgundy Field Lit by Ivory, Sage Green and Rose

The ground is a rich burgundy, closer to wine than to fire red, and it is dark enough to make every lighter element on top of it glow. The palette laid over it runs through sage and olive green in the leaves and palmettes, warm ivory and cream in the blossoms, soft rose pink in the flower hearts, and a dusty tan to old gold in the secondary vine work, with fine navy outlines holding each shape in place. The main border shifts to a creamy ivory ground, which lifts the whole perimeter and gives the burgundy field a clear edge against a pale floor or a dark wood surround.
