This is a shape you almost never see offered new: a 5'9" x 17'5" hand-knotted wool Oriental rug woven in Peshawar, Pakistan, nearly 6 feet wide and over 17 feet long, which makes it a true gallery piece rather than a narrow hall strip. The field carries an all over Ziglar floral drawing in peach and salmon with gold, brown and burgundy accents, and the pile is clipped low at 1/4" so the pattern reads clean and flat underfoot. It has never been used, the ends and sides are original and sound, and every rug ships with our certificate of authenticity confirming it as a genuine hand-knotted piece.

Design and Motifs

There is no medallion here. The Ziglar drawing runs as a continuous all over repeat, mirrored along the center line of the rug, so the eye travels the full 17'5" without stopping. Large lobed palmettes sit in staggered rows, each flanked by long serrated lancet leaves that point outward like feathers. Between them are small 8 petal rosettes, paired quatrefoil blossoms and tiny cusped crowns that link one row to the next, all outlined in a fine dark brown line that gives the softer tones their definition. The field is framed by a main border of scrolling vine carrying alternating rosettes and half palmettes, held between narrow guard stripes of running wave and leaf. Corner resolution is clean, the border turns the 4 corners without breaking the repeat, and the outer edge finishes in plain ivory fringe. It is a calm, spacious pattern, the kind that furnishes a long room without competing with anything else in it.

A Peach and Salmon Palette with Rust and Burgundy Depth

The ground is a warm peach that shifts toward salmon and light terracotta as the light moves across the wool, with gentle horizontal variation from the hand-spun yarn that gives the field a soft, sun-warmed quality rather than a flat printed tone. Against that, the palmettes and leaves are drawn in muted gold and old-ivory with a distinct olive cast in the leaf tips, so the pattern reads as tone on tone from a few steps back and only fully resolves up close.
