This is a heavy, finely drawn Sino Tabriz woven in wool with silk detail, and it has never been on a floor. The field is a deep burgundy carried edge to edge by an all-over floral lattice, framed by a black main border and a run of ivory guard stripes that keep the outline crisp. At 8'6" x 11'6" it sits in the most useful room size there is, a hair under a true 9x12, which means it fills a seating group or a dining table without crowding the walls. Design and Motifs

There is no central medallion here. Instead the weaver ran a continuous vine system across the whole field, anchored by large ivory and blush rosettes that repeat in a mirrored rhythm from side to side, with smaller 8 petal rosettes, half-open buds, cross-form blossoms and slender lancet leaves filling every space between them. The close-up shows how disciplined the drawing is: each stem curves rather than steps, each blossom is outlined in a darker shade so it reads clean against the ground, and the repeat is balanced without ever looking mechanical. The black main border answers the field with a procession of large turtle-form palmettes alternating with upright flower sprays on their own scrolling vine, and that band is fenced on both sides by narrow ivory guards carrying a tiny running flower meander. The corners resolve properly, which is the first thing to check on an all-over design, and the ivory fringe finishes both ends evenly.

A Burgundy Field Against Black and Ivory

The ground is a true burgundy, a wine red with brown depth rather than a bright cherry, and it darkens or warms noticeably depending on the light and the direction of the pile. Against it the florals are drawn in ivory, cream and a soft dusty rose, with a pale lilac tint in the larger rosette petals and touches of terracotta at their centers. Olive and sage green carry the leaves and the vine, giving the field a quiet third color that stops the red and ivory from going flat. The main border is a near-black midnight tone that frames everything and makes the burgundy look richer than it does on its own, while the ivory guard stripes and the cream selvage line supply the bright edge.
