It is a Chobi Peshawar in the Ziegler idiom: a soft beige field drawn edge to edge with palmettes and leafy vine, framed by a coral red main border and a pair of olive and ivory guard stripes. The rug is brand new and has never been used, the pile is full and even across all 262 square feet, and the selvedges and hand-tied fringe are untouched. Among oversized rugs this size is the hardest to source in a light ground, because a pale field this large has to be woven from one consistent batch of wool. Design and Motifs

There is no medallion here. The field is an all-over floral layout built on a thin ochre vine that wanders the full 20'2" length without ever repeating itself in an obvious way. Large fan shaped palmettes sit at the crossing points, each one opened out into 8 or 10 lobes with a small rosette at the heart, and between them run serrated acanthus leaves, half palmettes, cypress buds and tiny 4 petal blossoms in coral. The drawing is deliberately loose and slightly archaic, the hallmark of the Ziegler style, so the pattern reads as texture from standing height and only resolves into individual flowers up close. The coral main border carries its own rhythm of big cusped palmettes alternating with pairs of long curling leaves, and the ivory inner guard and olive outer guard repeat a small reciprocal blossom and lozenge chain. Corners are properly resolved on all 4 sides, with the border pattern turning cleanly rather than being cut off, which is the first thing to check on a rug this large.

A Beige Field With Coral and Sage Green

The ground is a warm beige that leans to honey and light camel rather than cool grey, and it shifts gently in wide horizontal bands as the natural wool takes the dye differently from row to row.
