Twenty-three feet four inches of hand-knotted wool, 31" wide, drawn in a single uninterrupted run. Pieces this long are ordered, not stocked, because the loom has to stay dressed for months and the drawing has to stay honest from the first knot to the last. Design and Motifs

The field carries a classic Jaipur all over floral lattice: broad lobed palmettes set on a repeating vertical axis, linked by thin curling vines that turn back on themselves and throw off serrated leaves, small 8 petal rosettes and closed buds. Every element mirrors left to right across the center line of the runner, so the eye reads one continuous rhythm down the full 23'4" rather than a series of stacked panels. The main border repeats a turtle-style palmette and rosette chain on a pale ground, framed inside and out by narrow guard stripes of running vine. The corners are properly resolved, with the border pattern turning cleanly rather than being cut off, which is the quickest way to tell a carefully drawn cartoon from a rushed one.

A Black Field Against Ivory and Gold

The ground is a deep near-black brown, dark enough to read as black across a room and just warm enough up close to keep the wool from looking flat. Against it the florals come forward in old gold, wheat and soft camel, with dusty rose and pale blush in the smaller rosettes and quiet sage green running through the leaves and vine work. A few small accents of ink blue and oxblood are tucked into the leaf tips. The border reverses the scheme entirely: an ivory to light gold ground, worked with rose, plum, moss green and black florals, so the pale frame lifts the dark field and gives the runner a visible edge on a wood floor. The outer edge is bound in black and finished with undyed ivory fringe.
