This 8'9" x 12' rug is brand new and has never been on a floor. It is hand-knotted in wool with silk worked through the flowers and the medallion, on an ivory ground, following the classic Tabriz medallion and vine layout. The pile is clipped low, which is what lets the drawing stay this crisp: the vine lines run thin and unbroken, and the small blossoms hold their shape instead of blurring. As a true 9x12 area rug it covers a standard sitting room or a full dining table with chairs pulled out, and it leaves a clean margin of floor on all 4 sides. Design and Motifs

The center holds an 8 petal rosette medallion built in layers: a small navy outlined disc at the core, filled with tiny multicolor florets, ringed by taupe and lavender petals, then a soft gold halo that dissolves into serrated leaf tips. Above and below it run slim pendants, each ending in a shield shaped cartouche with a rose bouquet inside a dark green outline, clearly visible in the close detail shots. The 4 corners carry matching spandrels in pale beige, drawn with split arabesques and curling cloud bands. Between all of that the field is a true all over floral composition of thin scrolling vines, palmettes, star flowers and open roses that mirror across both axes without ever repeating in a mechanical way. The frame is a 3 part border: a wide main band of alternating rose bouquets and serrated palmettes, flanked by two narrower guard bands of linked rosette cartouches and running leaf scroll, each separated by a hairline sage stripe.

The field is a warm ivory, closer to fresh cream than to white, and the main border steps up half a tone into soft beige so the frame reads without a hard color break. Sage green does most of the structural work here: it outlines the guard stripes, draws the leaves on every vine, and cools the whole palette down. Against that sit the warm notes, dusty rose and blush on the open roses, terracotta rust in the border palmettes and cartouche outlines, and pale gold in the medallion halo. Charcoal and near black are used sparingly, only as fine outlines around the larger flower heads and inside the pendant cartouches, which is what gives the drawing its definition from standing height. Small touches of powder blue appear in the forget-me-not clusters scattered through the border. Because silk is spun into the flowers and medallion, those areas catch light and shift lighter or deeper as you walk around the rug, while the wool ground stays matte and steady.
